These are hand painted ornaments on reclaimed aspen wood measuring 3.5-4”. The wood is repurposed from the mountains of Colorado, dried, sliced, then sanded smooth. From there, we drill holes, ties strings, and paint the backgrounds. We finish our ornaments with a variety of acrylic pens, markers, and metallic finishes.
These ornaments are meant to depict an evening, perhaps camping under the stars, when you are visited by a creature of the forest. I have had evening encounters with Moose and Bear, and have even felt the presence of a wolf while backpacking Isle Royale. Fox are so beautiful, every time I see one, I feel like it will be a lucky day.
